Republican Women raising funds for Avalon Center with fall fashion show

The Cumberland County Republican Women’s Club will kick off the fall season Sept. 16 with “Fall Fashion with Compassion,” a fashion fundraising show.
Partial proceeds are designated for the Avalon Center, a support organization for victims of violence in Crossville. “Fall Fashion with Compassion” will take place from 4-6:30 p.m. at Lake Tansi Restaurant.
“The Avalon Center provides comprehensive services to those affected by domestic and sexual abuse,” said club member Mary Kopmeier. “It is the only organization in Cumberland County providing support to adult victims of these crimes.”
” Kopmeier said the Republican Women’s Club hopes to spread the word regarding the important role the Avalon Center plays in the county. She said the organization is committed to service by engaging with community outreach programs and offering scholarships to help young people pursue higher education.
As part of the club’s commitment to supporting women, community women-owned businesses are featured in “Fall Fashion with Compassion.”
Limited tickets are $25 and are available for purchase at www.republicanwomencctn.org under “Upcoming Events.”
“We invite all women to come enjoy light bites, including shrimp cocktail, bruschetta bites, more,” Kopmeier said. “Silent auction baskets will be available to bid on including Fashionista, Health/ wellness, and more all while enjoying fellowship and viewing fashions from local businesses. What could be more fun than enjoying food and fellowship with women and supporting women in our community? It’s all about local ladies night!”
She added, “We hope you’ll join us in supporting Avalon Center and our local business women while having a fun evening!”
